Ok, I'm at work and almost completely stuck on a few things that i realy have no idea how to do. What is the solution to this? Procrastinate! Yay!! Although i really will have to get it done between today and tomorrow because my boss is back on thursday and will wonder what the hell i've been doing at all for the past few days..
Anyway.
On Saturday me and Felix had our housewarming party.The turn out was really pretty good, just over 50 people turned up we reckon and everyone seemed to have a really good time. As for the 2 of us, we were running about for the whole night trying to get 2 minute conversations with everyone, showing them around the house, opening cards and presents, making sure they had drinks, putting more food out, cleaning up spillages and collecting empty bottles and glasses. So yeah, neither of us really had much to drink and i think we had a couple of nibbles of food the whole night. The glass panels in our new mezzanine got broken while someone was dancing and there is a chip out of the side of the glass coffee table...but even with all of that it really was a pretty successful night. All of our friends were there, everyone commented on how nice the flat is, and said that that they had a great time. I think one of the sweetest compliments of the night was when G said that if he was in Back to the Future and could reccommend a party to Marty McFly, he would reccommend ours!
Sunday was spent cleaning too, we srubbed the whole house from top to bottom. 50 odd drunk people really can make some amount of mess. We took the empty bottles to the bottle bank and it looked like we'd brought a night's worth of bottles from a pub!
I've had some really nice texts from some of the folk who were there and it's really good to know that everyone enjoyed themselves so much. I think the party would have gone on much longer if the mezzanine incident hadn't happened, but after that people soon started to head home. It wasn't too much of a late one and we were in bed by about half 4- after Felix's friend Jo decided that we should do some of the tidying before going to bed so that it didn't look so bad in the morning. That was a pretty good idea really, because otherwise we would have been at it (the cleaning that is..) well into the Sunday night instead of just until 8.30p.m!
It was so nice just to sit back on Sunday night, watching a dvd and eating takeaway. It's the first time we've had a chance to do that since we moved in (about a month ago) and it's exactly what we needed.
Speaking of which, she is making me dinner tonight and then i don't know what she's got planned after that but maybe we'll play with some of the presents people got us and figure out where to put them and things. One of my friends gave me a couple of canvasses that she had painted and that she knew we liked. One of my other friends is also an amazing artistic photographer. She said that she was going to do us a a canvas but wanted to see the house first. I can't wait to see what she comes up with.
Anyway, I have just over an hour left at work so better go and get some of this done. I just had to e-mail the director and tell him that half of the stuff he is lookinbg for doesn't actually exist...
Oh well, that should be an interesting phone call...
